Jo's Little Women Club on Halloween Day!

Our Little Women's Club got off with a great start! We had a room full of wonderful women (some in costume!) and great food to go with it. We got to see all the new quilts Jo Morton has put together for us to make.
We had a challenge of a notebook cover from our last meeting and the ladies returned with some great finished books. Linda Sherman won the Jo Morton fat quarter bundle in our drawing - congratulations Linda! And Cherie Sherick won a quilt puzzle - congratulations Cherrie!

Civil War Tribute Block of the Month Club to Start in January

I have ordered a new line of fabric from Marcus by Judie Rothermel call CIVIL WAR TRIBUTE (it is in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War). The fabrics are wonderful – I know you will love them as much as I do! They will start arriving in November.

Will will use these fabrics in a Block of the Month Club making the quilt above. It will start in January. Call or stop by the shop if you are interested in signing up for this BOM.

Here is a little video of a Civil War reenactment to get you in the mood for this tribute quilt. Join us and make your own quilt to honor these brave men (and women) who helped to shape our country 150 years ago.

Underground Railroad block #2

Congratulations to Harriett Savage - she was the winner of the fat quarter bundle for block #1.

Underground Railroad blocks (#2) are now up in the shop. What fun we are having! The Charm block is great and done in so many different colors!
Here is a peek at some of the blocks.

We are on to block #3 - The North Star! Stop by and pick up yours today if you haven't done so yet.

We have new classes posted on the web page at: www.ladiesoflibertysewing.com check it out!

We also have a new BOM (block of the month) that will start in January. It is a tribute to the Civil War (150 years ago). Check out the web page for more info on that as well. Call the shop if you are interested in signing up for this. I will have more info here soon.

The Underground Railroad BOM is going well - we have a lot of blocks in the shop now to look at - lots of great ideas! We are on to block #3 now. It is not too late to join - just drop by and let me know. More photos of the new blocks soon as well.

Little Women's Club

We had a meeting on Saturday of the Little Women's Club and what great fun we had! It was also Hop and Heritage Festival in Independence so parking was a issue but all the ladies made it anyway. We even got to see the parade from the shop windows! Everyone in the parade was waving to us as they passed by. Later we had a couple of ladies come in that said they were in the parade and wanted to stop right then and come in to shop! How fun!!

We are still waiting on the offical quilts from Jo Morton for Little Women's Club but we handed out a notebook cover pattern for all the ladies and they had fun picking out fabric squares to make the cover with. We even added a note pad and pencle for their books. Everyone had a great time visiting and getting to know each other. We also had a great show and tell - I think we have some very creative ladies in this group!

Good news from Jo Morton - she will launch Club #9 at the Huston Quilt Market in early October so we should have the supplies by our next meeting. I will post the new poster as soon as I get it for you all to see.

Our next meeting will be October 31st (Halloween Day!) and we are going to have fun with a finger food potluck along with the meeting. We will also offer sewing after the meeting in the afternoon if anyone is interested in staying for that. We will be showing some of Jo Morton's techniques at that time (bring your sewing machine if you want to stay and sew).

If you are still thinking of joining in the club - call and let us know - we would love to have you join in on all the fun with us. (503-837-0676)
