Saturday we had a meeting of our Jo's Little Women Club at Ladies of Liberty Mercantile and we had six ladies attend with four new ladies! Some of our club members were out of town - canning - or had family to tend to and didn't make it this day. But it was great to make new friends and see old friends who love to sew with 19th Century reproduction Jo Morton fabrics!
The new club #9 isn't out yet but I gave the ladies a challenge to make Jo's Cabin Corners quilt from her book Yesterday's Charm. They were excited because it is small and a good challenge to get the light and dark fabrics in the right place! We had fun picking out fabric!
We had a great show and tell with our basket quilts that we just finished. We also had some other quilts to see - they are lovely (thank Sue - love the house quilt!). I had given the ladies a challenge at the last meeting to use their scraps on something quilted. We had a great little blue/white/yellow-green quilt from Sue to ooh at and I showed them a housewif I had made to keep your sewing needles and thread in (it is what a Civil War Solider would have taken to the battlefield with him to do his own mending).
I had another lady come into the shop later that day who is going to join us as well! Think about joining - we have so much fun and we learn a lot from each other as well.
